There Are No Bad People  –  listen[mp3]

Written for the Piece Of My Heat Songfight.

I’d spent the morning listening to Jet, which explains where this one got its start, but not why I ended up with April Wine.

STORY
Songfight title + 2½ supporting verses. “There are no bad people, only bad ideas” has rattled around in my head for a while, and exorcism-through-song is the best way to treat that.
LYRICS
I’m half blind, I missed the sign
She’s one of the girls I took home
It’s my defeat, she shook the street
And now i don’t wanna go

What a scene, what did she mean
“she wanted a piece of my heat”?
For all I know, she’s ready to go.
I wanna forget it all

Those old familiar words. She says:
 ”there’s no bad people,
 ya, there’s only bad ideas,
and oh let’s just be one”

I might be safe, but I’m no saint
I wanted to follow her home.
Before the sun, it’s over and done.
I can’t be trusted alone

Those old familiar words. She said:
 ”there’s no bad people,
 ya, there’s only bad ideas,
and oh let’s just be one”

I’m half blind, I missed the sign
She’s one of the girls I took home
It’s my defeat, she shook the street
She wanted a piece of my heat.
